Native speaker at Turan University

On April 1, a meeting was held at Turan University with a representative of the university’s strategic partner — the French Alliance — and a native French speaker, Estelle Charlet. The event was attended by French language instructors, as well as students of the Higher School of “Media and Intercultural Communication” enrolled in the “Translation Studies” educational program, who study French as a second foreign language.

During the meeting, Estelle Charlet introduced students to the особенностями of French culture, traditions, and everyday life in France, and also shared her impressions of Kazakhstan. Communication with a native speaker generated great interest among the students and became a valuable experience of live intercultural communication. What was especially inspiring for the participants was that, in an informal and friendly atmosphere, they were able not only to hear authentic French speech but also to learn many interesting, educational, and unique facts about the life, culture, and mentality of the French people.

Such meetings play an important role in the development of language competence, intercultural dialogue, and the international academic environment, and also motivate students to further deepen their study of foreign languages.

Turan University expresses its sincere gratitude to the French Alliance for the opportunity to organize such a meaningful meeting, as well as to the organizer of the event, Assem Abdikarim Mukankyzy.
